Handspun Armwarmers, Wristwarmers, Handwarmers…Whatever you call them!

Ever since I took up spinning, I’ve not been very good about using my handspun yarn. For spinning, I am drawn to hand-dyed rovings in multiple colors. I always drooled over other people’s two-ply handspun yarn, with the different colors coiling around each other like the stripes on a barber pole. It’s so fun to grab a handful of roving and spin it up, then see how the colors come together when I ply them. When I finish spinning a skein like this, I just admire the skein, yarn all wrapped up and pretty. However, I don’t always know what to do with my handspun. I’ve on and off thought of selling it, but I spin so sporadically that I don’t produce that much yarn. Over the last couple of weeks, I had an idea for some of my handspun that I created last year. Some beautiful armwarmers! Aren’t they pretty?

I got a new job a couple of weeks ago, and have been working part time at my old job and my new one, until this week. Monday and Tuesday are my last days at my old job, culminating in a performance put on by my afterschool theatre group. Then I will be a full time preschool teacher! I get an hour break at naptime, so I have been bringing my knitting along. Definite perk 🙂
